The Foreign Language Lab provides an opportunity to develop language skills through independent practice in listening and reading comprehension, vocabulary, grammar, and oral communication. Research studies show that additional practice enhances one's overall understanding and use of the language. Interactive computer software, language learning websites, and assistance with QUIA are provided in the lab to reinforce and complement the language instruction students receive in class. An orientation to the use of the lab, its materials, and our tutoring services is given in every class during the first two weeks of the semester.

Individuals are encouraged to visit the lab on a regular basis. If a student needs help with particular topics or skills, he/she can speak with the Professional Assistant on duty for assistance with lab programs or seek one-on-one tutoring in the particular language he/she is studying. Located in room S-100D, our tutors are available for Spanish, Italian, and French tutoring.
