The Biology Department at the Ammerman Campus provides instruction in biology, marine biology, and oceanography to three distinct groups of students.

- Courses in human anatomy and physiology and in microbiology are designed to meet the needs of students preparing for a career in the allied health fields.

- A comprehensive one-year introductory biology course, followed by more specialized courses in specific areas of biology are designed for students who are science majors.

- Survey courses in biology, marine biology, and oceanography are designed for students who do not fall into one of the above groups.
