Continuing Education courses begin January 31, 2008 and include such tempting topics as: Sushi Rolls, How to Cook & Prepare Wild Game, Sweet Dough Rolls & Babka, Artisan Breads, Super Soups, Glorious Frozen Desserts, Reinventing the Cream Pie, The Art of Crème Brulee, Cooking Seafood at Home, Fish Tales and more. Tuition is affordable and ranges from $26.00 for a one-meeting course on knife skills to $108.00 for a two-meeting Seafood Cookery course taught by a past first-place winner of NY’s Seafood Challenge.
In addition to a Professional Bartender Certification Course, the new Center will offer a Wine Appreciation primer over seven sections, offering a basic understanding of the main grape varietals and wine styles. The course, which conforms to Sommelier Wine Academy guidelines, provides lectures as well as samples of 5-7 wines for each class. Beyond tasting techniques, wine basics, and viticulture, the sections will include traditional whites, aromatic whites, cool climate reds, big and warm climate reds, and sparking and sweet wines.
