Faculty Development in Online Learning
On Friday February 12, in the Mildred Green Room at the Ammerman Campus Babylon Student Center from 9 to Noon the Office of Instructional Technology and members of the Distance Education Committee will hold a Professional Development workshop: Successful Strategies for Online Teaching
This workshop will provide an overview of determining readiness for transitioning from traditional to online instruction, including course preparation information, and then expand out to include attention to strategies applicable in the ‘Virtual Campus’ teaching and learning environment at SCCC such as managing a course online, effective use of features and tools common to all learning management systems (with particular attention to Desire2Learn), pedagogical approaches and technological considerations that have an impact on a successful online course teaching outcome.
