WE'RE PROUD OF OUR GRADUATES

Most of our graduates continue their education
or are employed in a human services agency after graduation.

Here's what they say about their experience in the program:

I left Suffolk with a solid social work foundation, an in-depth understanding of self awareness, the strength’s-based perspective, and the importance of integrity to the profession.

Lynn Staiano,  2009
BSW Student, SUNY Stony Brook

The experience in the program helped me when I went into a four-year school because I was the only one who had an extensive internship and experience practicing interviewing skills in the classroom setting.  It was an intense program, but very rewarding. It certainly prepared me for a four-year school.

Diane Witmer, 2006
BSW, George Mason University
Advanced Standing MSW student, SUNY Stony Brook

My education and training in the Human Services Program at Suffolk more than prepared me for the job I was hired for the week after I graduated.

Ginger Kelly, 2009
House Manager
Residential services for homeless women
Madonna Heights

The Human Services Program prepared me for the Bachelor's program at Stony Brook and really gave me the insight that I needed to become a productive and beneficial social worker. On a personal level, the program helped others around me as well. Seeing what a challenging and influential experience I had, my boyfriend decided to go back to school too! He is entering his final year at Suffolk in the fall.

Catherine Williams, 2009
BSW student, SUNY Stony Brook

There is no day at DSS while doing my job that I don't recall what I learned in the Human Services Program. Interviewing clients and assessing their situation, bring me back to those days where clients were only in my mind. Rosa, Maria, Peter, James, Carlos, Daniel and Karla are my real clients today and they are benefiting from what I learned at Suffolk.

Jose Wilson Montoya, 2006
Food Stamps Unit, DSS Suffolk County

I can honestly say that by graduating from the Human Services Program I am more prepared for the Bachelor's in Social Welfare Program.

Donna Gradilone, 2009
BSW Student, SUNY Stony Brook

The Human Services Program proved that I can exceed my personal expectations.

Lauren Romaniello, 2008
BSW Student
