Our Mission ...

The mathematics faculty at Suffolk County Community College seeks to inspire our students to acquire the knowledge and skills to comprehend, apply, and analyze mathematical concepts, in order to empower them with the ability to reason logically and critically. In pursuing this mission, the faculty will provide instruction that contributes to the students’ mathematical and academic growth. Our responsibility is to educate both mathematics majors as well as general education students.

A Guide To

Serving over 26,000 students each year in a variety of curricula and customized programs, the Mathematics Department offers a full range of offerings from developmental courses through honors sections and special topics courses. Among its students, the Department serves mathematics majors and participants in virtually all degree programs in daytime, evening, weekend and summer sessions. Courses are offered both on campus and at many off-campus locations.
