END OF SEMESTER ANNOUNCEMENTS

PREPARATION FOR FALL 2012 SEMESTER
Complete Online Surveys: All students should complete the Course and Clinical Agency surveys. Students who are graduating this May should also complete the Exit survey. These are available on the FORMS page.
Health Requirements: Continuing students need to be current and in compliance with all health requirements for the entire spring semester. Please see the checklist and forms available on the “FORMS” page.
CPR Requirements: Continuing students need to be current and in compliance with CPR certification. Please make certain you are in compliance.
E-Mail: Please remember to check your college email account over the summer break for information on your fall 2012 nursing classes. Course instructors will be sending important letters via email.
Tuition: Payment due date is Thursday, August 9th. Failure to pay will cause your courses to be dropped. You will then have to re-register and make tuition payment the same day.
Clinical Orientation: Remember to complete the online clinical orientation appropriate to your assigned spring clinical facility before the first day of class: Go to “CLINICAL AGENCIES” under Web links and select either:
·North Shore LIJ online program – for Southside & Huntington
·Universal Orientation Power Point – for all other hospitals
Day Class 2013 Students: NUR246/248 sections will incur a Chair Hold on June 30th, 2012. No changes to the schedule after that date.
Stony Brook Clinical: Students attending clinical at Stony Brook must obtain an ID Card and Parking privileges. Instructions for obtaining these items is on the “FORMS” page, titled “Fact Sheet for obtaining ID & Parking @ SBUH”.
Priority Registration for the fall 2012 semester begins on Monday, April 16th, 2012.

CHECK YOUR SAIN REPORT
It is important that you review your SAIN (Student Advisement Information Notice) when preparing to register. Be sure to check for any classes that you need to take, including non-nursing courses that complete your curriculum. It is especially important that you ensure that you have completed the pre-requisites for the nursing courses you will be taking in the upcoming semesters, and that you are taking any co-requisites required.

IMPORTANT REMINDER:
Students must remain within their original curriculum code, program, and admitting campus.
Students are not permitted to self-register in Banner for nursing courses that they are waitlisting (repeating). Refer to page 34 of the Student Handbook.
Attention DAY CLASS 2013 Students !!
You must register for NUR246 and NUR248 in the specific groupings outlined in the document below. Any registration outside of these groupings will result in de-registration by the chairperson.
Also, due to scheduling of a leadership component in NUR246, rosters must be fixed by 6/30/12. A hold will be placed on all NUR246/248 day courses on that date.
