        ACCESS TO WESTLAW  FOR PARALEGAL
        STUDENTS

For several years the SCCC Libraries have provided paralegal students and faculty access to Westlaw through dedicated computers in the campus libraries.   Paralegal students have asked about getting access from home.  Westlaw now offers students the option of accessing the legal databases from any PC, on or/and off campus, for $40 per student.  The library sees this as an important expansion of this vital resource and has agreed to finance the entire cost for interested students as part of our services to our college community.

Paralegal students using Westlaw as a part of a paralegal class can sign up for home access at the Circulation Desk in the Ammerman or Grant Campus Library no later than thirty (30) days after the start of the Spring or Fall semester.    This option is only available to students who have a declared major in Paralegal Studies (code 333 or 433), so students should bring their class schedules with them as proof.   Some time shortly after the students will get an email containing their IDs and passwords.   The password will be good for 12 months.
