LIU Riverhead offers a collegial, attractive, and stimulating learning environment on the Eastern Campus of Suffolk County Community College. We also provide the outstanding resources of Long Island University, one of the nation’s largest independent/private universities. At this location, we offer opportunities for graduates of Suffolk to continue their education to prepare for careers in two fields: Childhood Education and Communication Studies - New Media.
LIU Riverhead offers two (2) full-tuition Stay on Long Island Scholarships. One scholarship will be offered for the B.S. in Childhood Education program and one scholarship will be offered for the B.A. in Communication Studies – New Media program. We may also offer partial tuition scholarships to others who are recommended by Dr. McKay. The partial tuition scholarships are significant; they can be as high as $20,000 per year. These scholarships apply to fall and spring tuition and require that students take at least twelve credits each semester. The scholarships are renewable for up to three years by maintaining a 3.5 cumulative average.
NOTE: Applying for the Stay on Long Island Scholarship is NOT an application to the college. You must apply for transfer admission separately. You can do that online by clicking on the Online Application link.
Scholarships available for May 2013 graduates enrolling for Fall 2013:
- Two full tuition SoLII awards!
- One for the B.S. in Childhood Education program
- One for the B.A. in Communication Studies - New Media program
- Additional partial tuition SoLII awards up to $20,000!
Students must apply for transfer admission to the college by Friday, February 22, 2013 to be eligible for the SoLII scholarships.
