The Shrew: An Adaptation by Charles Marowitz
The Suffolk County Community College Theatre Training Program
presents

The Shrew
an Adaptation by Charles Marowitz

Charles Marowitz's adaptation of The Taming of the Shrew,
titled The Shrew, juxtaposes a clever cutting of Shakespeare's
original
text with modern scenes of a man and woman meeting
for the first time and forming a relationship. By paralleling the two
stories, Marowitz draws attention both to the misogyny inherent in
Shakespeare's original piece and to some of the ways in which
woman are still treated in today's society.

Taylor 2

Choreographer Paul Taylor is the last living member of the pantheon that created America’s indigenous art of modern dance. Since its creation in 1993, the Taylor 2 dance company has brought Mr. Taylor’s repertoire to nearly 400 cities around the world. With six dancers, it is modeled after the dance maker’s original 1954 company. Critics and audiences cheer as Taylor 2 introduces the humor, range of emotions and astonishing athleticism that characterizes Taylor dances - often to audiences that have never before seen modern dance.
